Chicks and Ducks
THANK YOU…
for a great 2008 season. We sold over 3,000 birds. Customer interest in this hobby is exploding at Pickering.
WHERE ARE THEY?
CHICKENS AND DUCKS are gone for now, but will be back next spring. Look for them then. Check out the following important tips for fall and winter care of your chickens and ducks...
GET READY WITH LIGHT!
Now is the time to start adding light in your chicken house to insure continued egg production during the fall and winter months. Remember: chickens lay eggs based on the number of hours of daylight, not the temperature. Set up a timer to duplicate the number of summer daylight hours. A 40 watt bulb is all that’s necessary.
PROVIDE SHELTER.
It is extremely important that DUCKS AND CHICKS have secure shelter from weather and predators! Local fox can be a challenge to their safety.
