Starting Seeds
Contemplating the savings of growing your own garden?
#1 Take a step. You can easily start herb, veggie, and flowers from seed and NOW is the time to start. Starting from seed is a snap with Jiffy peat pellets, starter trays, and Schultz seed starter soil mix.
#2 You'll enjoy selecting your seeds and love watching them grow taller everday. Choose from culinary herbs from Page's Seeds; all kinds of flowers, veggies & herbs along with specialty sprouts & lettuces from Thompson & Morgan; budget-conscious Value Packs of snap peas, beans, corn, and peas from Roher Seeds; and many veggie & lettuce varieties from Liberty Garden.
#3 After the last frost, usually mid to late April, plant your seedlings in a prepared plot, in window or patio boxes, or decorative pots. Be sure to water and fertilize each hole before you position your seedling, even if your soil has fertilizer in it. It gives your babies' roots a healthy jumpstart!
#4 Water every day, unless it rains! No missing; it's critical.
